As a conservator, I strive to retain the integrity of a monument, its historical and ancestral significance, as well as the visual aspect of the artifact. This is done through both restoration and preservation services. I do this to bring to life the footprints of the past for the benefit of future generations.
At Forget-Me-Not Gravesite Care, I practice a conservator’s code of ethics. That is to first “DO NO HARM” to the well-being of the monument or the surrounding grave. Stone and legacy preservation are of utmost concern to me. The gentlest approach will be taken while applying the highest standard of care. I do not use a high-power pressure washer, wire brushes, cutting power tools, or damaging bleach, ammonia, or acids. These improper cleaning approaches will lead to accelerated deterioration.
I use my own two hands, an abundance of fresh water, soft bristle brushes, and soft wooden sticks. I use a nonionic, environmentally friendly biocide when severe biological growth is an issue. I am diligent in my work, and I am blessed to love what I do!
