About Artist

Michelle’s personal journey started into the world of art and clay when she was very young and she has endeavored to make it a central part of her life again, holding onto the dream of someday being able to share her love of the ocean with you. After retiring from a career in veterinary medicine she decided to turn her attention once more to her love of the natural world and launched her a business of her dreams.

Today she happily enjoys this wondrous venture living on the Atlantic Coast and visits the ocean as often as she can to be inspired. Below are some fun facts about why she loves the ocean, and you should too!

  • The oceans and seas cover more than 70% of Earth's surface.
  • Some sea anemones can live over 100 years!
  • Belugas can swim backwards as well as forwards.
  • Most of the life on Earth is aquatic.
  • Sea turtles can hold their breath for five hours underwater.
  • Seaweeds and algae provide about 70% of the world's oxygen.
  • Sharks are much older than dinosaurs.

“The world’s oceans are the lifeblood of the planet. But while they are vast, they are also finite, they do have limits. It is up to us to protect them for future generations of the world.” Michelle L. Edell
